Basic guard card course is for anyone who meets the state requirements of becoming a security guard. You will learn legal standards and requirements for security officers. There will be a written test on the California state provided Powers of Arrest Manual. This manual will be reviewed in the classroom prior to the exam.

This course will build on the basic guard course and provide more advanced training. This course will include a written test and Live Fire Testing. Use of force and powers to arrest will be taught in this course. This course meets California state requirements for the exposed carry permit which expires in 2 years. 4 additional re-qualifications are required for renewal of this permit.

Contact Professional Technique for re-qualification appointments. Re-qualifications are required twice a year / no less than 4 months apart. It is recommended that these be completed 2 months prior to renewal to allow time for processing.
